18-Year-Old Apprentice Impregnates 10 Girls, Including Boss' Daughter – Anambra Commissioner Seeks Public Help

In a shocking and troubling incident in Anambra State, an 18-year-old boy has reportedly impregnated at least ten girls, including his boss’s daughter and a salesgirl, just months after being sent to learn a trade.

The story, which has stirred intense reactions online, was made public by the Anambra State Commissioner for Women’s Affairs and Social Welfare, Hon. Ify Obinabo. In a Facebook livestream, Obinabo expressed her deep concern and called on the public for guidance, admitting the situation was “beyond her capacity.”

According to the commissioner, the young man was sent by his family to serve as an apprentice under a businessman. However, within three months of his arrival, he had already impregnated his boss's daughter as well as the shop’s salesgirl. This led to him being sent back to his village.

But the situation only worsened. Within two months of returning to his hometown, the boy went on to impregnate eight more girls in the community, bringing the total to ten.

During her live address, Obinabo recounted the desperation of the boy’s mother, who had brought the case to her office. “She said anytime she sees a girl walking towards her house now, her heart skips. She’s afraid and doesn’t know what to do anymore,” the commissioner said.

Seeking answers, Obinabo questioned the boy on how he was able to lure so many girls into relationships. “He told me he simply tells them that he loves them and promises to marry them once he makes money,” she revealed.

“This issue is beyond me. We’re talking about an 18-year-old with ten pregnancies tied to his name. I’m asking the public—what should be done? Is this a spiritual matter? A psychological issue? What kind of help do we even begin to provide?”

Obinabo emphasized the urgent need for a multi-faceted solution involving legal, psychological, and possibly spiritual support—not just for the boy, but also for the girls involved, many of whom may now face uncertain futures.

As the story continues to gain traction, it raises serious questions about youth education, parental guidance, sexual health awareness, and community responsibility in Nigeria.
