British-Nigerian Nursing Student Fatally Stabbed in Texas Days Before Graduation

Authorities in Houston, Texas, have confirmed the tragic death of Elizabeth Tamilore Odunsi, a 23-year-old British nursing student of Nigerian heritage, who was found stabbed to death just days before her graduation.

Officers from the Houston Police Department discovered Elizabeth’s body on April 26 during a welfare check at her apartment. She was found in the kitchen with multiple stab wounds and pronounced dead at the scene. A man was also found in a bedroom with at least one stab wound and was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Elizabeth, known on TikTok as @tamidollars, had more than 30,000 followers and often shared her journey as a British student living in the U.S. In her final post, dated April 21, she spoke excitedly about graduating in two weeks and shared plans for an upcoming holiday. In another recent video, she proudly showed off the cap and gown she intended to wear for the ceremony.

The aspiring nurse had relocated from the UK to the U.S. to follow her dream of working in healthcare. Her sister, Georgina Odunsi, described her as “a beautiful soul, full of light, ambition, and kindness.” In a heartfelt tribute on a GoFundMe page, Georgina wrote:

> “She moved from the UK to the United States to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse, dedicating herself to a life of care and service. Tragically, Tami was brutally murdered just days before she was set to graduate—a loss beyond comprehension.”

The online fundraiser, launched to support the repatriation of her remains and funeral expenses, has raised over £44,000 ($58,000) so far.

According to police, they were called to the student housing complex at 3:50 p.m. local time. When no one answered the door, officers noticed blood on the rear patio and forced entry into the apartment.

Texas Woman’s University, where Elizabeth was a student, has not yet issued a public statement.

In an earlier TikTok post, she had shared a hopeful message about her future:

> “She doesn’t know it yet, but a year from now, all her hard work will pay off. She’ll be working as a nurse in her dream specialty.”

Tami also expressed a desire for a stronger relationship with Christ and “a quiet and peaceful life.” Her death has left a deep void in the hearts of her family, friends, and supporters around the world.
