Outrage in Ondo as Pastor Allegedly Impregnates 13-Year-Old Disabled Girl

Odigbo, Ondo State — A pastor identified as Peter James of Christ Apostolic Church, Modebiayo, Oke-Gburowo, is under investigation after allegedly impregnating a 13-year-old disabled girl who was a choir member in his church.

The case is being investigated by the Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun Corps, following disturbing revelations from the victim's family and members of the community. The accused cleric, who was initially arrested, was reportedly taken to the palace of the local monarch, Oloja Moses Ogunmoyewa, where he allegedly confessed to the act before later recanting his statement.

According to a source close to the family, the pastor had previously impregnated the girl and arranged a secret abortion without the family’s knowledge. The latest incident reportedly became public when the girl fell pregnant again.

The girl’s mother, Mrs. Victoria Bernard, accused the pastor of denying responsibility due to her daughter’s physical deformity, and has since appealed to the government, civil society organizations, and well-meaning Nigerians to intervene.

Attempts by senior pastors and the zonal headquarters of the church to persuade Pastor James to own up reportedly failed. While the zonal office in Igburowo has remained silent on the issue, a source within the church claims the matter is being addressed at the church’s headquarters in Odigbo.

The case has sparked outrage among residents and child protection advocates, who are demanding justice and psychological support for the victim.
